Medical Mini Bus Service

This service is operated by the Culburra and Districts Community Health Service which is a small community committee elected annually at a public meeting.

Area of Service

The Service is for residents of Orient Point, Culburra, Currarong, Callala Bay, Callala Beach, near edges of Pyree and Greenwell Point.

How to call the Service

The service can be booked by calling the Culburra Pharmacy on 4447 2382. Please give as much notice as possible because there is only one vehicle to meet all requests.

Costs

The service is provided free of charge. Capital and running costs are met by fundraising through our Ladies Auxiliaries, the Opportunity Shop at Culburra, donations from Clubs and organisations throughout the area and personal donations.

Drivers

Drivers are volunteers drawn from residents of the area, both men and women, who are rostered for duty at times to suit them and usually requires half a day a fortnight.

Anyone may volunteer to help by leaving there name, address and phone number at the Maurice Bruce Pharmacy Culburra.

Basic Rules

Everyone using the service MUST observe the following rules:

  1. The Service is to convey medical patients of our area to their point of medical attention (NOT beyond Nowra) and return home.
  2. he Service is FREE - but donations are gladly accepted. A box is provided on the bus for this purpose.
  3. Call for the Service on 4447 2382 giving as much notice as possible. Pleas be understanding if the vehicle is not available.
  4. Drivers and receptionists are volunteers. Please respect them and don't subject them to abuse if something is not to your liking.
  5. Stopping for shopping is forbidden except to get prescriptions from a chemist.
  6. Don't keep the mini-bus waiting. It has other appointments to keep. Call 4447 2382 in plenty of time if your appointment is cancelled.
  7. The Service is intended for residents who do not have their own transport and where public transport is unsuitable.
  8. Smoking is not allowed on the mini-bus.

Please observe these rules to save embarrassment
